Code of Conduct

Welcome to the Community – we are glad to have you on board. All that we ask is that you pay attention to these guidelines and rules (not many) and we will all be happy (most of the time).

Chef Network is professional network connecting Ireland’s chef community, where they can connect, inspire, share and collaborate. We want to create the same positive environment in our online community that we aspire to offline in our industry.

If your online behaviour or your posts do not meet the rules, or we feel that they are in any way offensive, inappropriate or not relevant to this forum, we may delete the posts or, for repeated offences, suspend your account. But we hope it won’t come to that.

WHO IS CHEF NETWORK FOR?

Chef Network is for all professional and trainee/student chefs across the island of Ireland. If you have chosen cooking as your CAREER, then this network is for you.
Amateur cooks, food bloggers, restaurant lovers, everyone else – we think you are wonderful, but please don’t try to sign up to the network, as it will be embarrassing for all of us when we have to say ‘No’.

THE RULES:

USE YOUR REAL NAME

Anonymous posting is not allowed on the Chef Network community. Register using your real name and include your name (and other relevant information eg where you work & your location) in your signature.

BE CONSTRUCTIVE

This is a POSITIVE environment - we want to encourage chefs to share, collaborate and inspire each other in a positive and open way. So please be constructive in your comments.
Critiquing something is fine, giving constructive feedback when it is looked for is great, debate is fantastic. But do so in a way that is relevant and adds value – and never make it personal.

BE PROFESSIONAL

This is a professional network so please behave in a professional manner and make contributions that are relevant to your profession. It may be relevant in some discussions to comment how being a chef can impact on your personal life, but we don’t need to know what your cat ate for breakfast.

BE NICE

Don’t offend, don’t get personal, don’t use unnecessarily strong language. Any member who makes comments or posts content that is racist, homophobic, sexist or discriminatory in any way will have their account suspended without warning.
Every chef is welcome here and everyone’s input is valid. Please don’t ever intimidate, belittle or alienate another member. If we see evidence of this, your account will be suspended.

DON’T SELL

Don’t try to use the community to try to sell stuff to other members. If your company wants to advertise on the Chef Network site or become a partner, please contact us and we can arrange.

CONTENT

Credit any content you post that does not belong to you
Only post content that is relevant, legal and complies with the rules above

That's it. Not too hard right?
By continuing with sign-up, you agree to abide by these rules.
