#KitchenCulture at Linkedin

JULY 2017

Chefs and Suppliers both engaged in conversation at #KitchenCulture to discuss the future of the industry. A panel of Chefs including JP McMahon, Danni Barry, Mark Anderson and Darina Brennan led the conversation, but the many ChefNetwork members in the audience joined in the talk as well. Together they debated issues like how to recruit and train new chefs, how to improve the workplace environment, and how to avoid burnout in one's career. 

Linkedin also gave a presentation teaching ChefNetwork members how to build an outstanding online profile. Afterwards, they were treated to an amazing array of small dishes presented by Mark Anderson and the Gather & Gather team

#STAFFMEAL at Thyme Restaurant

MAY 2017

After a long day of learning about bread, Chef Network Members traveled to Thyme Restaurant in Athlone to wind down the day. Chef John Coffey and his team prepared and presented a fabulous 6-course menu. As you can see above, the food looked spectacular - and it tasted even better!

 ChefNetwork's #StaffMeals occur monthly. We invite and encourage all Chef Network members to attend. Staff Meals are an opportunity to get together with culinary professionals from throughout Ireland. Converse and connect with other chefs all while enjoying fabulous food. Sourdough Baking for Chefs & Cooks Workshop

 Joe Fitzmaurice is one of the leading practitioners of Real Bread and sourdough baking in Ireland today.  

In May, Joe shared his tried and tested methods for baking sourdough with ChefNetwork members. Joe, one of the leading practitioners of Real Bread, taught guests how to begin their sourdough starters, how to ferment and flavour the bread, and how to bake a perfect loaf.  By the end of the workshop, members had learned how best to incorporate baking into their schedule, how to achieve the best results, and how to alter recipes to one's taste.

We loved learning to make scrumptious sourdough loaves and Joe even equipped us with the knowledge to make even more delicious bread at home.
